Therapy for Activists & Change Agents

Activism takes a toll.

You may feel morally exhausted, hopeless, angry, numb, or burned out.

Maybe you’re grieving what hasn’t changed, the progress that’s been lost, or what it’s been costing you to keep going.

Maybe you’re struggling with how (or if) to maintain relationships to loved ones who disagree with you on things that are deeply important.

I offer therapy for people on the front lines—community organizers, educators, healers, nonprofit workers, advocates—who need space to rest, reflect, and reconnect with themselves. Therapy is a place to work through the pain, but it’s also where you can explore how to make room for your joy, your body, your worth, and your right to live a fully human life that isn’t just about survival.

If you’ve been traumatized

If you feel vulnerable

If you’re undocumented

If you worry you’re not doing enough

If you feel hopeless about ever making a real difference

… you are welcome in my practice.

Referrals

Research on the effectiveness of psychotherapy shows that the single most important factor in the success of therapy is being able to form a good working relationship with your therapist. I am a white, cisgender, able-bodied, heterosexual woman. There are any number of reasons why you may not feel comfortable working with me, or you may prefer a therapist who identifies differently. This deserves attention.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch with me if you are looking for a different sort of therapist to work with and are not sure where to start. I would be happy to help you find someone who is a better fit. I do not charge a fee for providing referrals.
